Ceramics
After learning some fundamentals of throwing plates, bowls, cups, and jugs, I became interested in hand building. I specifically liked the way animals come alive as they are sculpted, fired, and glazed. Below are some pictures from my senior year art show in 2009.
Metalwork
I took a metal casting course in 2012 where I learned how to create molds for sand and investment casting, and made pieces using bronze and aluminum. I also learned the basics of welding and cleaning up metal parts using grinders and sand blasters along with hand tools. I really enjoyed metalworking, although it requires a lot of specialized equipment so I have not done anything since.
